Payton Pritchard has emerged from a fringe player to one of the Boston Celtics’ most reliable starters this season. The former NBA Sixth Man of the Year is enjoying a career 2025-26 season, averaging 17.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists on 45.2 percent shooting from the field across 37 starts.
While many are in awe of how far he has come over the past few years, Pritchard thinks he still has a long way to go, as he’s trying his best to help the Boston Celtics win games night in and night out.
“I don’t even know if I’ve, like, figured it out fully yet. It’s still a learning process, and every game just keep growing and growing… I feel like I’ve gotten better from the beginning of the year, but it’s still more steps to go,” Pritchard said via Celtics on CLNS.
Pritchard was the Boston Celtics’ leading scorer during their 125-117 home win over the Toronto Raptors on Friday, posting 27 points, five rebounds, and eight assists on 12-for-19 shooting from the field across 30 minutes of action.

Boston Celtics News: Jaylen Brown takes pride in the team’s league-leading offense
The Boston Celtics have been one of the best teams in the NBA over the past month due to their potent offense. Since December, the 18-time world champions have a 126.6 offensive rating, which is equivalent to the league’s best mark during that time.
With the Boston Celtics on the rise, Jaylen Brown has also surged to third in the NBA’s MVP ladder behind Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic.
“Some of the stuff that they were saying about what our offense will look like (with) me leading the offense is not what it looks like right now. So I’m just grateful to have an opportunity to come out every single night and play Celtic basketball,” Brown said in a recent interview.
