Breanna Stewart and Natasha Cloud of the New York Liberty recently opened up about their favorite March Madness moments. The Liberty official Instagram handle asked Stewart and other team players to share unforgettable moments from their respective March Madness tournaments. To this, Stewart simply and straightforwardly responded with four ring emojis.

Of course, what Breanna Stewart meant to signify the four times that she led her team, the UConn Huskies to the NCAA Championships. However, Cloud had other ideas and responded that her favorite March Madness moment was her team, the St. Joseph’s Hawks, defeated the Georgia Bulldogs stunningly in the very first round of the tournament, but then soon lost to the UConn Huskies in the next game.

Breanna Stewart has had a stellar career on the court ever since her college basketball days for the UConn Huskies, where she played from 2012 to 2016. She was then selected as the first overall pick in the very first round of the WNBA draft by the Seattle Storm. Stewart played from 2016 to 2022 for the Storm and then moved to the New York Liberty in 2023.

On the other side, Natasha Cloud started her college basketball career by playing for the Maryland Terrapins from 2010 to 2011. For her next year, Cloud moved to the St. Joseph’s Hawks and played until 2015. Cloud managed to be picked up by the Washington Mystics as the 15th overall pick in the second round of the WNBA draft.

Cloud played on and off for the Mystics from 2015 to 2023 after moving to the Phoenix Mercury in the previous season. The 33-year-old point guard was recently traded to the New York Liberty and will be playing her first season for the team in this upcoming season in May.

On another note, Breanna Stewart’s college basketball team, the UConn Huskies will be taking on the Arkansas State Red Wolves for the first round of the NCAA tournament this weekend. UConn finished their regular season with the NCAA at the top of the Big East table with an 18-0 conference score and 31-3 overall.

The Huskies had a fabulous Big East tournament, and consecutively against the St. John’s Red Storm, the Villanova Wildcats and the Creighton Bluejays. Stewart, who won four NCAA championships with the team, has continued her strong support for her alma mater.
