The issue with social media personality Brittany Renner and her ex-husband, Dallas Mavericks star PJ Washington, reached a new high as a new statement from Renner’s mother alleged a different perspective on the viral interaction they had.

As posted on Instagram, Brittany Renner’s mother shared new details on the behind-the-scenes of the viral encounter between the former couple over custody on their son.

“So after I dropped my phone running to her side of the car, I was like, ‘What you wanna do?’ She (Chanel) swung on me, I was like, ‘Ohhh, that’s what we doing, got it,'” Renner’s mother wrote.

Renner’s mother also alleged that things got heated between her and Alisah so much that she was getting ready to body slam her. It wasn’t until PJ stepped in and pulled off his wife away from her that they cooled the fight down.

Renner and Washington welcomed their son in May 2021, and Washington went on to marry Alisah Chanel in 2023. Alisah and PJ now share two younger sons, Preston and Paxton. Despite their high-profile statuses, both PJ and Renner remain entwined in a co-parenting arrangement that continues to play out under the spotlight.

The clip has gained millions of views since it was shared on Instagram and TikTok. This sparked debate about co-parenting challenges, as fans and commentators discussed Washington’s involvement. They also debated Renner’s choice and how she documented the dispute online. Neither party has issued a formal statement so far, aside from follow-up shades through social media.

What Happened Between Britanny Renner and PJ Washington?

Over the weekend, a video posted to Brittany Renner’s social media channels captured a tense custody exchange between the “Basketball Wives” star and NBA forward P.J. Washington. In the clip, Renner hands her crying son, P.J. Jr., to Washington for their scheduled visitation and accuses him of being absent in their child’s life.

Renner demands that Washington “actually show up” for their son rather than simply collecting him when visits are arranged.

“He doesn’t want to go with you,” Renner said in the video, noting that that was the third time something like that happened. “So, actually show up and do something with him. ‘Cause he does this every time.”

As the youngster continued to weep, Washington fired back, accusing Renner and her mother of “babying” P.J. Jr., which Renner vehemently denied. Frustration boiled over when Washington hurled the crude taunt “suck my dick” at Renner, prompting her mother to accuse him of prioritizing payments to his wife, Alisah Chanel, over supporting his own child.

Brittany Renner, so far, has remained silent on any follow-up statement on the issue.
