Bronny James shot one of the most important baskets for the Los Angeles Lakers in their NBA Summer League game against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.
The son of Lakers superstar LeBron James hit a three-point basket with 3:47 left in the contest at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas to tie the game at 79-all. The Lakers would close out the Hawks for an 87-86 victory.
For Bronny, though, it was more than just a clutch basket, as he can finally get out of a hump that is his struggles shooting the ball from beyond the arc. According to the six-foot-two guard, it was all about moving on after an off night.

“Good outcome, good outcome. I just forget about all the shots I missed, forgetting about the games we lost. I just come out and put on my game and try to give my best every time I come out on the floor. That’s what I did tonight and ended up well,” said James, who finished with 12 points on 5-of-11 field goals and 2-of-5 on threes.
Before Wednesday night, he was 0-for-15 from beyond the arc during the NBA Summer League, so when he hit a 26-foot jumper with 2:47 to go in the first half, he felt a huge relief after finally hitting a three-pointer in the NBA
“[It] really felt good,” James further said.

Bronny James just wants to play basketball
Ever since he declared for the NBA Draft after just one season at the University of Southern California, James has been under the scrutiny of fans and analysts, mainly because he is LeBron’s son.
Historically, sons of past and present NBA superstars have never had stellar pro careers, or worse, in the case of Michael Jordan’s son Marcus, never even made the league at all.
Early analysis believed that Bronny would not get drafted at all, with some even suggesting that he should withdraw his application and stay amateur for another season at USC.
However, James did not turn back and pushed through with the NBA Draft, and the Lakers eventually drafted him 55th overall late into the second round.
The criticisms just grew when he began swinging into action in the NBA Summer League, posting averages deemed to be too low for someone with a lot of hype.
Despite all of these, James does not mind them and says that he just wants to play the sport that he loves.
“I’m just looking forward to any basketball, no matter what level I’m playing at,” he further said.
As his Summer League campaign winds down, James looks to just enjoy his de facto first taste of NBA action.
