Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas shared a blunt reaction for being snubbed on the latest ESPN’s Top 25 NBA players under 25, saying he is already used to the feeling of being overlooked. According to the former no. 27 pick, he prefers to let his game do the talking.
“If you look at the numbers and look at what I do against everybody I play against, there’s no debate or discussion,” Thomas explained via ClutchPoints’ Erik Slater.
“I just know what I do and I’ll just keep believing in myself. I just want to help the team win the best way I can. So I don’t really care about a list or anything. As long as your peers know that you’re one of the best players, then that’s all that matters to me,” he emphasized.
Cam Thomas is currently the Brooklyn Nets’ no. 1 option on offense following the departure of Mikal Bridges last offseason. The 23-year-old guard is averaging 24.7 points (career-high), 3.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game on 46.1 percent shooting from the field and 38.9 percent from three-point land this year.
Cam Thomas won’t return to the Brooklyn Nets lineup soon
Cam Thomas is sidelined for at least three weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury. He has now missed the Brooklyn Nets’ last five games, and his earliest possible return date is a game against the Toronto Raptors on December 19.
“I’m just doing whatever the performance team has me doing. It’s still early,” Thomas said via Brian Lewis of the New York Post. “I’m just doing whatever they have me doing, just a little bit here and there. But it’s all right.”
“I want to be out there every game. Just being out now really sucks. But just got to rehab the best way I can to get back on the court as fast as possible,” he concluded.
