“The Sky is the Limit” – Brooklyn Nets Coach Issues Major Challenge to Cam Thomas This Season

Cam Thomas showcased his offensive arsenal during the Brooklyn Nets’ 111-109 win over the Phoenix Suns at The Venetian Arena last Friday, as he led the team with 16 points and four rebounds on 4-for-12 shooting from the field and 8-for-10 from the free throw line in 26 minutes.

Speaking to the media after the victory, Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez said this is nothing new from Thomas, and he expects more of the same from the 24-year-old guard this upcoming season.

“I think the sky is the limit,” Fernandez said via Fadeaway World. “CT makes us a team that is really hard to guard when he playmakes and scores at the same time because if you put two on the ball, he’s going to make the right pass, and if you give him space, he’s gonna score. And that’s how much he impacts the game.”

“At scoring, this league’s got a lot of talent and a lot of players that can score. But CT can really score, and he can also playmake at a really high level. And he showed it especially in the first half (against the Suns), and now the challenge is, can we do it into the second half? So, I got to do a better job of helping him and helping the group, but that’s another opportunity to do it against a very physical team,” he concluded.

Brooklyn Nets News: Jordi Fernandez drops blunt take on owner’s “tanking” remarks

Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai recently hinted that the team is tanking this season during a recent appearance at the All-In Summit in Los Angeles, and head coach Jordi Fernandez talked about it in detail.

“He says he wants a good draft pick because no matter where we pick, our front office is so good that we’re gonna pick a very good player,” Fernandez said via Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.

“And it’s been proven with Noah Clowney, Jalen (Wilson), I mean, all these guys, our five guys we picked this year. He believes in the front office, and then we’re gonna develop those guys. So wherever we pick, that’s why he’s excited, because we’re gonna pick right,” he added.
