Michael Porter Jr. received flak for his previous comments about the WNBA a few weeks ago. It can be noted that, back in September, the Brooklyn Nets forward implied that a group of the best eighth graders could blow out a team full of WNBA All-Stars.

Angel McCoughtry was one of those who heard about Porter’s comments, and the five-time WNBA All-Star pushed back on the Brooklyn Nets star’s remarks on the Higher Learning podcast.
“First of all, congratulations. You were dominating against women in the eighth grade. What does he want? Does he want a cookie? You want a medal for that? The only thing that should be coming out of a man’s mouth about women is uplifting her,” McCoughtry stated.

“You guys, we have practice guys that come in. You guys help us be more athletic. You guys help us be quicker. You guys play great defense on us,” she continued. “If you notice real quick, the elites, Kobe Bryant didn’t say that kind of stuff about us. He never did. He only uplifted us and supported us. LeBron doesn’t talk that kind of stuff. Why the elites don’t talk like that?”
Brooklyn Nets collapse late against the Toronto Raptors
The Brooklyn Nets dropped to a 3-13 record, following their 119-109 road loss against the Toronto Raptors last night. At one point, the score was even at 104-104 with less than four minutes left. However, Toronto went on a 10-0 run and never looked back.

“Human nature hits, and then you just don’t start the right way. So, lesson learned from us,” head coach Jordi Fernandez told Brian Lewis of the New York Post. “I still trust those guys, and we’re going to be better next time we’re in that situation. So there’s no starting games flat.”
Tyrese Martin was the team’s leading scorer, having notched 26 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and five three-pointers on 7-for-14 shooting in 26 minutes off the bench. Michael Porter Jr., Noah Clowney, and Nic Claxton added 25, 22, and 10 points, respectively.
