Auburn Tigers coach Bruce Pearl has not been shy about letting the public know about his political views, and it sems like the baskketball coach is not stopping on being vocal, as he defneded his support for US president-elect Donald Trump.
Pearl has long been using his platform, through his X account, in expressing his political views. He has showed support for Trump during the campaign period, and continued to do so until the election results confirmed that the former US president is once again back in power.
“President Trump won big because more Americans believed he will fix Inflation, secure our border, support legal immigration, bring peace to the world through strength and put America first,” he said in his post on X. “I pray and I believe he will work for all Americans, uniting us as one nation under God!”

When asked about potential negativer effects of his political expression to hsi basketball career and the overall image of Auburn, Bruce Pearl said that he “will not be silent.”
“I spend more time on issues and policy than I do politics, really. Sometimes, they do get political, but it’s more about policy and issues,” Pearl said, adding that he is just “glad that it’s basketball season.”
“I’m not going to be silent. And as a an American, Jewish person that is in the public eye, I feel like it’s my responsibility to try to speak the truth,” Bruce continued. “So as a teacher and a coach, I do spend most of my time just trying to provide accurate information so people can have an extra better understanding of the situation.”

Bruce Pearl on “Not Celebrating” Auburn Game Win
The Aubrun Tigers recently had their victory over Vermont, in an overhweling 94-43 game. Following this, the Tigers are set to face the current #4 team, Houston. With this said, the national champion coach believes that they should not be celebrating too much and keep their focus on what’s ahead, erspecially with the challenge of facing Houston.
“Obviously, Saturday at Houston is going to be a completely different matchup. Different team, different size, athleticism, physicality, and so we are not celebrating this,” Pearl said. “Don’t read into it too much, other than we shot it really well and played pretty hard.”
Bruce Pearl is set tot lead the Auburn Tigers as they face the Houston Cougars in a road game this Sunday, November 10 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
