Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Warriors’ Jimmy Butler found themselves on opposite ends of NBA playoffs when the latter was still with the Miami Heat. Their battles make for great entertainment because of their dedication to the game that elevated their teammates.

Tony Snell, who played with both Giannis and Butler, thinks they are two of the best teammates he’s had. The 6’6 sweet shooting forward was with Butler and the Chicago Bulls from 2013 to 2016. He was then signed by the Bucks and played with the Greek Freak until 2019.
“Both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jimmy Butler are big on mastering their craft and their spots. Specifically, Jimmy is really big on bringing confidence to his teammates,” Snell said in an interview with Cyro Asseo of HoopsHype.
“They’re always encouraging their teammates to shoot the ball, be aggressive, and play their own game.”

He said he learned from these two and he wants to bring that to French pro-club Boulazac Basket Dordogne where he will play this year. This will be the first time the 2013 20th overall pick will play overseas.
“They always uplift their teammates using their voices, but not only their voices, they show it with their actions,” Snell added. “I’m here to do the same thing, learning from them.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo-Jimmy Butler encounters
Butler’s Heat got Bucks’ numbers as his then team bested the Wisconsin franchise twice in the three series that they met. Miami were the lower seeded in all those instances.
The most epic one was in 2023 when they ousted the Bucks as a first seed and them as the eighth seed. The Heat reached the finals in those two series wins. Antetokounmpo was limited in both series.

However, the Bucks have more to brag as they won the NBA title in 2021 when they swept the Heat in the first round.
Right now, the only time they will meet again is in the NBA finals as Butler already took his talent and dedication to the Western Conference after collapse of relationship with the Heat last season.
