The Milwaukee Bucks returned to winning ways after taking care of business on the road against the Brooklyn Nets. Doc Rivers has a simple explanation about this victory – the bench.
Giannis Antetokounmpo continues his MVP form with 34 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Damian Lillard scored just 15 points but had huge 11 assists, with some of them coming from crunch time.
The two superstars came out and delivered just like the past two games that they lost. This time though, they had a lift from the bench, something that Rivers said will only get better as the season goes on.
Doc: “Our bench is just going to keep getting better now especially with Khris eventually starting at some point, you’ll have gary, and TP and AJ Green, boy.. we’re finally going to say we have a bench and I’m looking forward to that.”

Khris Middleton’s return became a stabilizer in close end game situation like the one against the Nets. He scored 11 points and made six assists off the bench.
Bobby Portis and Gary Trent Jr. were also huge as relievers as they scored 23 and 20 points, respectively. They also scored impressive threes at the end of the game to help the Bucks make a run.
Bucks trusting each other made the difference says Doc Rivers
Late game executions were suspect for the Bucks in their loss to the Celtics 48 hours ago.
Rivers said they have learned their lesson and that is among the reasons why they won against the Nets.
“The difference tonight and the Boston game was tonight, we trusted everything. Giannis made a great pass to Bobby for a 3. Dame had the 3, but they were closing out and he swung it to Khris. That’s called trust. That’s how you win games.”
With the win, Milwaukee climbed back to above .500. Next up for them are the Orlando Magic on Tuesday.
