The Milwaukee Bucks are the only ones who were able to repeat their last NBA Cup season’s performance by reaching the Final Four again but that’s not an edge according to Doc Rivers.
In fact, there’s something about them that makes them different to other three finalists.
The Bucks won against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday and they will they will face the Atlanta Hawks who advanced by beating the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
In the other bracket, it will be the Western Conference standings no. 1 and no. 2 teams Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets that will have a showdown for a shot at the NBA Cup.
Rivers knows they are the oldest team among the four.
I mean, we’re gonna being our wheelchairs to the cup because we have these three young teams. You know, everybody’s, Atlanta is young. Oklahoma is young. Houston is young. Then here comes the old Milwaukee Bucks wheeling in. That’s what we are gonna be, you know. We’re gonna just wheel in our wheelchairs and come in on our canes and see if we can just play some basketball. That’s what we are gonna do.
Is Doc Rivers correct about age comparison?
How truthful is his statement?
OKC are indeed the youngest team in the league with an average age of 24.148 years old.
The Rockets? Not really. Probably because of the presence of Fred VanVleet and Jeff Green in the roster. They are the 18th youngest team at 26.44 years old.
Their East opponents Hawks are the 10th youngest in the league at 25.159.
The Bucks are the seventh oldest squad with an average age of 27.87. Their two superstars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are 30 and above.
The Greek Freak turned 30 last week while Lillard is 34 years old.
OKC’s main star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is 26 while Trae Young of the Hawks is just as old.
The Bucks are not young but maybe their experience will make the difference to win their first ever NBA Cup.
