The Chicago Bulls playing right now is not even a shade of what the fans saw in the first two weeks of the season and head coach Billy Donovan points out the team’s lack of familial bond as the culprit.
Bulls started season 4-1 but now, they are at 9-14 and have fallen outside of the play-in. The worst part is that they just suffered a seventh straight loss after falling to the Golden State Warriors at home.

It was their third straight loss at the United Center, all by double digits. These losses are from the Warriors and two lowly East teams – Brooklyn Nets and the Indiana Pacers.

Donovan’s frustration is hard to hide after the latest defeat. He thinks there is a disconnect between his players and they are not yet on a level wherein they are ready to go out of their way for each other.
“I think the group gets along very well. They all like each other,” he said as quoted by The Athletic and Bulls reporter Joel Lorenzi.
“But until they love each other enough to block out, dive on the floor, do that not for themselves but for the guy next to them…this will continue.”
Billy Donovan: “I don’t care (about the injuries), it’s part of the NBA. … what are we doing? What can we control? The disconnect is, when they care enough about each other in that locker room, that’s when it’ll get done.”

Josh Giddey agrees with Billy Donovan
Was Donovan right about his assessment of the players? Team’s leader Giddey has no objection.
“Everybody in this locker room gets along,” Giddey told reporters when asked about his coach’s statement.
“We don’t have anybody that butts heads. We all love each other, we all care about each other. But there’s multiple ways to show that. On the floor, we’re not showing that enough.”

Bulls will have a four-day rest and they can use that to figure things out. Next on their assignment are the Charlotte Hornets, New Orleans Pelicans and two consecutive games against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
