Philadelphia 76ers fans easily accepted that they did not have a chance last season and that is mainly because of the injury to key players. Fast forward to today, should they get their hopes up? Stacey King says they should not.

The Sixers formed their own Big 3 last season. They signed Paul George to a huge deal to play alongside 2023 MVP Joel Embiid and rising star Tyrese Maxey. However, no Big 3 happened as the trio played just 15 games together. They suited up for a combined 115 games out of 246.
King, a member of the 1991-1993 Chicago Bulls dynasty, suggests that the 76ers front office should dismantle this Big 3 instead.
“Move on from Paul George…I’m keeping Tyrese Maxey. He’s a young player. But Paul George and Joel Embiid are always hurt,” he said in his podcast.
King, who also dabbled as a coach through the minor league Continental Basketball Association’s Rockford Lightning, added that the team got stars who are just not available.

“They’re never playing together. I don’t know how many games they play together, but it’s got to be fewer than 20 together. And they seem to be uh..Paul George is more into podcasting than actually playing,” he added.
Joel Embiid’s status for Philadelphia 76ers still hanging
Some critics think the 76ers should be formidable enough to compete in the Eastern Conference. That is if everyone available.
The one carrying the biggest question mark is Embiid who was supposed to return health last season but only played 19 games. He was eventually shut down on February 28.
The last news about him was in June wherein it was reported that he is recovering well and will be ready for the training camp.

Head coach Nick Nurse has an encouraging response when asked about Embiid. The 1-time champion coach said during the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders Europe camp that a lot more decisions have to be made first.
“All the news is positive,” Nurse said in an exclusive with talkSPORT.
“I know he’s working very, very hard and I think things look good.
“Whether he’s ready for training camp or not, I think there’s maybe a lot more decisions than that to make before we get there.”
