Caitlin Clark reflected on her outstanding plays during the last WNBA season at the Indiana Fever. Clark recalled her match against the Los Angeles Sparks, where her teammate and fellow star rookie Aliyah Boston gave her a crucial pass that led to her second triple-double.
Both Clark and Boston heated up on their match against the Sparks last September 4, scoring 24 points each. Notably, the former had double-digit assists and rebounds. However, she also noted that she wouldn’t get the triple-double that time if it wasn’t for her teammate’s decision.
In the game’s final seconds, when Kia Nurse of the Sparks missed a three-pointer, the ball went toward Clark and Boston. However, instead of contending, the latter gave it to the former, which only needed one more rebound to get her triple-double.

Clark gave her reactions regarding this considerate act by Boston via a video clip posted by the Indiana Fever on Twitter/X:
“Shout out to AB (Boston). She kinda let me get that rebound, but I was lucky because it bounced right in my direction, so I had to get it…”

The former Iowa Hawkeyes also shared the sweet camaraderie between her teammates, particularly on their celebration after the match:
“I think you can just tell, like, the joy that it brought to my teammates as well. Like, it just speaks to the team culture that we have here. Like, nobody really cares like about themselves. They just want what’s best for their teammates…,” Clark further said.
Clark’s second triple-double was one of her best moments and solidified her as one of the WNBA’s young yet most formidable players. In her rookie year, the Indiana Fever guard already achieved many records, such as completing the most assists in a single season.

Caitlin Clark achieves another milestone as the WNBA’s ROTY
After displaying exceptional skills in the previous season, the WNBA granted Caitlin Clark as the season’s Rookie of the Year. She also undoubtedly joined the league’s All-Rookie Team and fellow rising rookies, such as her biggest ROTY contender, Angel Reese.
It was also a moment for Clark’s team, the Indiana Fever, as they had received back-to-back ROTYs, starting with Boston. The two young women’s talent proved extremely helpful for the Fever, as they’ve finally entered the postseason after an eight-year drought.
Amidst an early exit against the Connecticut Sun in the playoffs, Clark and her team remained optimistic, knowing that they are now a force to be reckoned. In an interview with ESPN, the Fever star rookie gave a warning to her opponents in the following seasons:
“I feel like I could continue to get a lot better, and before we know it, I’m sure we’ll all be back here and ready for the next year,” Clark said.
During her rookie season, Clark played 40 games for the Fever, averaging 19.2 points with a 41.7% field goal, 8.4 assists, and 5.4 rebounds. She also had fourteen double-doubles and two triple-doubles.
