Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier didn’t hold back when addressing the growing negativity surrounding WNBA players—especially Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.
“It’s getting so toxic,” Collier said Thursday on A Touch More. “I feel like in our league, with a lot of the fans going back and forth… basketball is supposed to be so unifying, and it is so toxic. Like every game, it’s just like hatred out there towards other players, and not just like Angel and Caitlin.”
She added, “But it’s with everyone, and people are just so nasty on there. And it’s like, we’re playing a game, and you are saying hateful things about players… I feel like we’re trending in a really bad spot with that.”

Her comments come after the WNBA launched an investigation in May into alleged abusive remarks aimed at Angel Reese during a matchup with the Indiana Fever. While Collier didn’t point fingers at specific fans, her message made clear the rising hostility around the league isn’t going unnoticed.
“I Needed Better Competition”: Lexie Hull Roasts Caitlin Clark in Cup Tic-Tac-Toe
Caitlin Clark may be known for draining threes—but cup tic-tac-toe? That’s still a work in progress.
In a recent team competition, Clark faced off against Indiana Fever teammate Lexie Hull in a best-of-three showdown. The Rookie of the Year came in confident, telling cameras she was “sure” she’d win. Instead, Hull made quick work of her.

Clark struggled to keep up, even after Hull gave her the red cups and a second shot to claim a round. But Hull shut the door before Clark could line up a single cup.
After the sweep, Hull didn’t miss her chance to poke fun on Instagram, posting: “I needed better competition.”
Clark owned the loss, replying, “Not my best showing.”

Even off the court, the battles are heating up—wig jokes and all.
