Caitlin Clark has heard all the takes. From praise to nitpicking, her every move gets dissected. But this time, someone stepped up for her—and didn’t hold back.

WNBA Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman fired back at former NBA guard Jeff Teague after he said Caitlin Clark was just “a good player, not a great one.” That opinion didn’t sit right with Lieberman, who came with stats and smoke.
“I don’t agree with Jeff Teague who I read something today said that Caitlin Clark is just a good player, she’s not a great player. Jeff, I love you but you weren’t a good player. You were serviceable. I know you made the All-Star team one time,” she said on Gilbert Arenas’ Gil’s Arena podcast.
It’s not just about clapping back. Lieberman’s point echoes what many fans feel: Caitlin Clark is changing the game and bringing eyeballs to it. She leads all WNBA rookies in scoring and assists, and she’s still adjusting to pro-level physicality.

At a time where it seems that the WNBA has started to revolve around Caitlin Clark, the timing, the impact and the showcase of skills has become front and center. The rookie guard has become a lightning rod in every discussion, and whether critics admit it or not, the spotlight follows her for a reason.
Caitlin Clark’s journey is far from finished. But if the all-time greats are already defending her legacy, then maybe “good” isn’t the word we’re looking for.
Jeff Teague Fires Back After Nancy Lieberman Dismisses His Caitlin Clark Take
Jeff Teague had jokes—but also stood his ground.
After Nancy Lieberman called his NBA career “serviceable” in response to his Caitlin Clark comments, Teague responded in typical Teague fashion: funny, chill, and unbothered.
“lol u got it og i aint gone fry you just said I think she’s good not great…. I think Kelsey is better that’s all but I’m serviceable that’s kind of true my career was kind of like your sons in the big 3 only thing was my mom didn’t draft me nah I’m joking s/o to yall,” Teague said online.

The former NBA All-Star clarified that he wasn’t trying to hate. He just believes Caitlin Clark is good, but not quite elite—at least not yet. His take sparked a wave of reactions, especially with Lieberman coming in hot with her response.
Whether you agree or not, Caitlin Clark remains at the center of it all. Every opinion, every post, every clapback—it all circles back to one name. That spotlight isn’t fading anytime soon.
