Caitlin Clark has always been silent about her personal life, let alone her relationship with Connor McCaffery. Recently, McCaffery decides to disclose his origins with Clark and how their bond grew over time.
Clark and McCaffery made their connection public in August 2023. They’ve exchanged some remarks since, whether personally or on social media. They had their recent anniversary last April 2024.
Now, McCaffery is working as an assistant coach of the Butler University men’s basketball, while Clark is playing for the WNBA’s Indiana Fever.
In his interview with the Times Union, McCaffery shared how his relationship with Caitlin Clark grew from friendship to being partners:
“We were always friends,” McCaffery said.
“Our teams hung out together. We had good relationships with the women’s team and we just eventually started hanging out. Really, at first, it was no different than it had ever been. It was just kind of easy how it all worked out, you know.”
Caitlin Clark and McCaffery made some recent public appearances. They watched the Indiana Pacers’ preseason game against the Memphis Grizzlies last October. They were also at the Golden Gala Fundraiser, where Clark strolled the red carpet in a strapless black gown.
The WNBA’s ROTY was also with her boyfriend during the Butler Bulldogs’ game against Western Michigan. The university caught her attendance with the Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton and posted it on Instagram.
Caitlin Clark sends good luck message to former college teammate

In her previous Instagram story, Clark was thrilled about Martin’s new home, sharing her friend’s post with the Valkyries.
The Indiana Fever captioned: “let’s go Kater!!!!!”
Caitlin Clark and Martin played for the Hawkeyes throughout college, where they entered the National Finals twice in a row. The former averaged 28.4 points, while the latter made 8.0 points per game.
