Caitlin Clark has always been a staunch defender of anything and everything that comes out of Iowa, especially more when it’s something to do with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Clark recently reacted to a tweet about another Iowa alumnus, Luka Garza, where Marc D’Amico could not help but highlight the Bosnian-American’s three-point shooting percentage in this campaign.
Garza is currently in his debut season with the Celtics, and it looks like the player is really coming into his own here. Before this, Garza was part of the Timberwolves, but did not exactly make an impression there.
“Luka Garza is the stretch big no one knew existed before this season. He’s now shooting exactly 50% from 3-point range this season.” Marc D’Amico tweeted.

“I knew,” Caitlin Clark responded.

Caitlin Clark’s two-word response got plenty of traction of its own, with many fans pointing out how much better Garza has been playing ever since he got with the Celtics. Garza definitely showed plenty of promise right out of college, but clearly did not get many opportunities to shine with the Timberwolves. It seems like the staff here at Boston are ready to hand Garza plenty of chances to prove himself and the hooper himself is eager to do so.
While many fans did side with Clark in her review of Luka Garza, there were also others who felt that she was taking the side of a player who has not proved himself to be much in value. Many felt that Garza is actually an average star and does not deserve to be under a spotlight.
Caitlin Clark’s Former Fever Teammate Talks About Playing With Team
On another note, Caitlin Clark’s former Fever teammate and close friend Sophie Cunningham, recently opened up on her experience in the Indiana locker room. Cunningham was interviewed by Nathalie Jones during the Sophie Cunningham classic event hosted by the hooper’s family.

“It’s been so much fun, just being back in the Midwest, I’m back to my roots. I’m back to being around the people that I grew up around, and then feel most alive, and I am dealing with an injury…rehab is going well, but the Indiana Fever was just such a blessing. You know, it’s more my speed, more my style of playing, the girls in the locker room, any level…” Sophie Cunningham said.

Cunningham added that the Fever players managed to create a pretty “fun culture” in their locker room. While she may love the team all she wants, it looks like her team with Indiana has come to an end for good with her remaining a free agent as of now.
