The 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend kicks off in Indiana on July 19, and Caitlin Clark is once again in the spotlight—this time as one of the game’s team captains.
The Indiana Fever now have three players headed to the All-Star Game—Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell—despite sitting around a .500 record. That didn’t sit right with Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve, whose team is leading the league but only got two players in: Napheesa Collier and Courtney Williams.
“I don’t know why only Phee and Courtney are All-Stars when you have the best team in the league by a few games,” Reeve said on Sunday. “There are teams that are below us in the standings by a lot that have three All-Stars. Historically, teams at the top get a minimum of three, often times four.”
Many were surprised that Kayla McBride and Alanna Smith were left out. McBride is putting up 15.1 points per game and has been huge in clutch moments, while Smith is averaging 10.4 points, 5.5 boards, and 2.5 blocks—a two-way force for the Lynx.

Meanwhile, the Fever—despite being in the middle of the standings—will have one of the biggest representations in the All-Star Game. And that’s got people talking again.
Caitlin Clark Faces Decision: Will She Draft Angel Reese?
Caitlin Clark, who got over 1.2 million fan votes, is now the first All-Star captain in Fever history. But is one storyline already building heat? Whether or not she’ll draft Angel Reese.
Reese, who made her second All-Star Game, was named to the reserves. And now fans are watching closely to see if Clark, during Tuesday’s All-Star Draft, will pick her rival.

Their beef goes back to college. In the 2023 NCAA title game, Reese hit Clark with the “you can’t see me” celebration as LSU beat Iowa. In the WNBA, things stayed tense—especially after Clark gave Reese a hard foul in their first matchup of 2025, which led to a flagrant one.
They’ve had some fiery battles, but the question is: Will Clark look past all that and bring her on board—or let someone else draft her?

Either way, the All-Star Game just got way more interesting.
