One of Caitlin Clark’s rookie records with the Indiana Fever didn’t last long — but she’s got no complaints about who broke it.

Aliyah Boston set a new mark during Sunday’s 99-93 overtime win over the Connecticut Sun, notching her 15th double-double of the year. With 14 points and 13 rebounds, she now owns the franchise’s single-season record for most double-doubles, moving past Clark’s 14 from last season.

The Fever made sure the moment didn’t go unnoticed. The team dropped a highlight reel on social media showing Boston’s best plays from the year. The All-Star center reposted it to her Instagram story with a one-word caption: “Swag.”

Aliyah Boston’s leap forward has been obvious all season. She’s averaging career highs across the board — 15.2 points, 3.6 assists, 8.3 rebounds, plus a block per game — while keeping Indiana firmly in the playoff picture. With Clark sidelined by injury, Boston has become the team’s anchor, pushing them to a 19-16 record and sixth place in the league standings.

“MVP Kels”: Caitlin Clark’s Tweet Sets Off Debate and Support

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark still finds ways to dominate the conversation even while she’s out. Sunday’s win belonged to Kelsey Mitchell, who erupted for a career-high 38 points, including 34 after halftime and in overtime. Clark made sure to spotlight her teammate, firing off a quick post on X:

That two-word message was enough to stir things up. Fans debated what it meant, and some critics recycled the old narrative about Clark overshadowing teammates. Podcaster Adrienne Ross wasn’t having it.

“Folks crashing out because CC’s giving props to Kelsey and busting their narratives. She loves her teammates, and they love her. It’s not too late to come into the light, folks! Let’s go, Fever! You inspire many of us! @IndianaFever = 1TeamStrong!,” Ross wrote.

Clark’s stardom has always brought extra noise, but moments like these show where her focus is. Instead of talking about her own rehab or future, she’s amplifying teammates who are carrying the load in her absence. For Indiana, that energy matters as much as her stat lines — and it’s one reason the locker room continues to rally behind her as the playoffs draw near.
