Caitlin Clark’s former Iowa teammate Gabbie Marshall was spotted at Breslin Center on Sunday afternoon. The former college basketball star was in attendance to cheer her alma mater in their Big Ten opening game against Michigan State.
Marshall took to social media to cheer for her old team. She posted a photo on her Instagram story.
“Go Hawks!” Marshall captioned her post.

Unfortunately, her cheering was not enough as the Hawkeyes lost to the Spartans in a closely contested game, 68-66. Iowa junior Hanna Stuelke led the team with 18 points and eight rebounds, with point guard Lucy Olsen following with 13 points and three rebounds. Kylie Feuerbach also contributed 12 points and three rebounds in a losing effort.

Playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2013 to 2023, Gabbie Marshall averaged 6.6 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. She helped Caitlin Clark get the team to back-to-back NCAA tournament title games in 2022 and 2023.
After her fifth season, Marshall opted to forego the 2024 WNBA draft and retire from basketball to pursue her graduate studies.

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark went on to be the first overall pick of the 2024 draft by the Indiana Fever. She had a spectacular season, where she set new league records as a rookie and was named Rookie of the Year. TIME Magazine also named her the 2024 Athlete of the Year.

Caitlin Clark is not the only Indiana Fever player to receive a prestigious honor. Aside from the 2024 TIME Athlete of the Year, Aliyah Boston was also recently honored by her school.
In her visit to the Worcester Academy, Boston became the first athlete in the school’s history to have her jersey retired in a special event. The 2023 WNBA Rookie of the year is also a three-time Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year (2017, 2018, 2019).

A former five-star recruit, Boston also earned All-American honors and was given the opportunity to play in top high school events, including the Jordan Brand Classic and the McDonald’s All-American game. She led her team to two consecutive New England Prep School Athletic Council Class A Championships.
After the jersey retirement ceremony, Boston took to Instagram to share some photos from the festivities. She added a caption to the series of photos, saying, “Feeling blessed to get my jersey retired.”
Caitlin Clark commented on Boston’s post, saying, “Yass sista.” Lexie Hull and the Indiana Fever’s official account also sent their congratulations to one-half of the “ABC²” duo.
