Ball State president Geoffrey S. Mearns had a few words about the lecture on the institution’s official website.
“David Letterman is our University’s most famous graduate. He is a native Hoosier and a national icon, and Caitlin Clark has quickly become a beloved Hoosier and national star. I anticipate their conversation will be very special. On behalf of Ball State, we are honored to host them,” Mearns wrote.
Letterman established the lecture and workshop series to bring in the top media leaders to his alma mater. Among those who have also been part of the program include Oprah Winfrey, Biz Stone, and Rachel Maddow.
Caitlin Clark achieved significant milestones in her rookie season, helping the WNBA rise in popularity. She also set the records for most three-point shots, assists, and points made in a single season as a rookie, earning herself the Rookie of the Year award in the process.
She is now set to add the honor of being part of the David Letterman workshop series to her list of achievements. Fans may visit the Ball State University’s website and social media accounts for more information on how to get tickets.

Caitlin Clark opens up on business she wants to own
Fresh from her rookie season in the WNBA, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has become one of the most sought-after female sports athletes in the world. There have been reports that Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier’s “Unrivaled” league was ready to offer her a deal similar to what soccer star Lionel Messi received in Major League Soccer.
The one-time WNBA All-Star guested on Jada Gyamfi’s “Fresh Tawk” podcast on Tuesday, where she revealed that she wanted to venture in a certain type of business.
“Have you ever seen them put up that dream thing? It said, like, ‘Play in the WNBA,’ ‘get a scholarship,’ and one said, ‘Own a restaurant.’ One day, I have to accomplish that,” Clark said.
It was reported that Clark signed a $28-million, eight-year deal with Nike. She also has ongoing deals with Wilson, Gatorade, Bose, and a few other brands. With these lucrative deals, owning a restaurant might not be impossible for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year.
