Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever lost another tough one on Thursday night. This came in the form of an 89-77 defeat at the hands of the Seattle Storm, which marked Indiana’s 12th loss in 19 games played this season.
Despite the rough start to her WNBA career, Clark has continued to impress. On Thursday night, she dropped 15 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in another noteworthy performance. Through it all, the 22-year-old also hasn’t held back when it comes to talking smack to her opponents.
Becky Hammon Reacts to Caitlin Clark’s Smack-Talking Ways
Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon recently shared her thoughts on Clark not being a timid player on the court. Hammon also noted that Clark’s primary nemesis, fellow rookie Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky, has a knack for talking smack as well, which is why these two always clash whenever they face each other on the basketball court.
For her part, Hammon believes that this is all just part of the game:
“At the end of the day, they’re really super skilled. They’re fun to watch. And they jaw at each other,” Hammon said. “… Nobody talks more crap than Caitlin too… Let em’ go. They’re big girls.”

The important part about all this is that both Clark and Reese back up their smack-talking with their respective games. Much like Clark, Reese has also had a tremendous debut campaign with the Sky.
Either way, though, it appears that both Clark and Reese will have to go through Hammon’s reigning champs Aces if they want to win their first-ever WNBA title anytime soon.
