Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will definitely sit out the remainder of the 2025 season, and fans cannot expect a surprise playoff comeback sometime soon. At least, this is what one insider analysis revealed.
In a podcast interview with analyst Rachel DeMita, Fever insider Scott Agness shut down rumors that Caitlin Clark may be planning a surprise playoff return. According to him, Clark is still struggling with her ankle injury and will definitely sit out what little remains of the playoffs.

“She’s not returning. Listen: She is not returning, period,” Agness said. He later went on to say, “The reality is she’s not in a position to play.”

The insider was referencing a viral video that showed Caitlin Clark practicing ahead of the Game 3 matchup of the Fveer against the Atlanta Dream. From that, rumors of a Caitlin Clark return made rounds online, citing the fact that she was spotted practicing as proof of her imminent return.
However, for the insider, the video itself is proof that Clark is not yet capable to competing inside the court again.
“I thought I saw [in Atlanta], and then again in the video, she was still favoring that left ankle. She was not running completely smooth,” he added. “Now, given it’s early in the morning, that was like the first 10 minutes of shootaround. [She] shot it well, but she has been able to shoot throughout all of this over the last several months.”
Despite being out for most of the season, and the Fever going through challenges of losing their star players to injury, the franchise was able to pull through the regular season and clinch a spot in the playoffs.
Caitlin Clark Finde $200 for Comments Towards Officiating
Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark said she was fined $200 by the WNBA after posting an Instagram comment that criticized league referees following the Fever’s Game 2 playoff win over the Atlanta Dream, a penalty she shared on X with laughing emojis to highlight the sanction.

Clark, who has been sidelined since July with a groin injury and was ruled out for the season on Sept. 4, made the comment on Sept. 17, the day after the Fever’s victory, and the team advanced past the Dream with an 87-85 Game 3 road win despite missing multiple contributors to season-ending injuries.
“Got fined $200 for this,” Clark wrote on her post with multiple crying-laughing emojis. The caption accompanied a screengrab of a “refs couldn’t stop us.”
Through 13 games in the 2025 season, Cailtin Cark averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game. She shot 36.7% from the field and 27.9% from the three-point line.
