While Indiana Fever star player Catilin Clark remained out of the game due to her injury, franchise head coach Stephanie White recently gave fans “good news” on the condition of its injured players.
In a recent interview, Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White shared an update on the injuries of their players, Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham.
“I think we got good news from both (Cunningham and Sydney Colson) of their MRIs, as good of news as you can get,” White said. “And so right now, it’s a day-to-day thing. We’re looking forward to hopefully them returning at some point sooner rather than later, but at the same time, it’s how each of them progresses in their rehab.”
Caitlin Clark continues with her recovery, though the franchise has not announced an official return date for her yet.
Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham both suffered injuries during recent Indiana Fever games, leaving the team struggling with a depleted roster.

Clark was ruled out with a left quadriceps strain, an injury that will keep her sidelined for at least two weeks.
The Fever did not specify exactly when the injury occurred, but Clark had been playing through physical matchups before being ruled out. Her injury came just two quarters after Sydney Colson also exited the game with a left leg injury, further weakening Indiana’s backcourt.
Fever Signs Emergency Player Amidst Caitlin Clark Injury
With Caitlin Clark sidelined due to a left quadriceps strain, the Indiana Fever faced a significant roster challenge, prompting them to sign Aari McDonald under the WNBA’s emergency hardship exception. This rule allows teams to temporarily add players when their roster drops below ten available players, ensuring they can remain competitive despite injuries.

McDonald’s arrival comes at a crucial time for the Fever, who are struggling with a three-game losing streak. Known for her defensive intensity and playmaking ability, she previously played for the Atlanta Dream and Los Angeles Sparks before being released earlier this season.
Fever coach Stephanie White emphasized the need for a guard who could contribute on both ends of the floor, particularly with Clark and Colson—Indiana’s primary ball-handlers—out of action. McDonald expressed excitement about joining the team, calling it a “humbling experience” and stating that she is ready to compete and win.

The Fever hopes McDonald can help stabilize their lineup and provide relief for Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull, the team’s only remaining healthy guards. As Indiana navigates this challenging period, Caitlin Clark’s eventual return will be key to restoring the team’s momentum and playoff aspirations.
