Indiana Fever star and former Iowa Hawkeyes legend Caitlin Clark showed support for her former college teammate, who looked back to her memorable days playing for the Hawkeyes.
In an Instagram post, Iowa Hawkeyes guard Kennise Johnson showcased in multiple photos her memories of playing with her teammates. One of the photos was with Iowa alumna Catilin Clark, who she had the chance to play with for one season.
“Grateful for every memory made this year. #explorer,” Johnson wrote in the caption of her post.
Clark, despite being in the poro league already, still did not miss the opportunity to show support to her former teammate.
“Love you pookie,” she wrote in the comments section.

Kennise Johnson, a guard for the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team, suffered a serious knee injury during practice in the 2023-2024 season. This injury sidelined her for the entire 2024-2025 season. Johnson, who was a freshman during Caitlin Clark’s senior year, had been gradually finding her footing in college basketball before the setback.

Despite the challenges, Johnson has remained optimistic and focused on her recovery. Her social media posts reflect gratitude for her experiences and memories with the team, suggesting she is determined to make a strong comeback in her junior year. The Hawkeyes have supported her throughout her recovery, and fans are hopeful to see her return to the court soon.
Throughout her time with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Caitlin Clark played 139 games, averaging 28.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game. Her shooting efficiency was remarkable, with a 46.2% field goal percentage, 37.7% from three-point range, and 85.8% from the free-throw line.

In her appearance at “The Bird and Taurasi Show,” where she also joined WNBA legends Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi in a live commentary of the NCAA women’s basketbal finals, Caitlin Clark gave a short teaser of what fans can expect from her as she sprints to the court for the 2025 WNBA season.
“That’s gonna be me this year,” she said, after witnessing a full-court play during the game. “Picking up full-court, guys. Yeah, watch out.”

During her 2024 season with the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and a league-high 8.4 assists per game. Her shooting efficiency was notable, with a 41.7% field goal percentage, 34.4% from three-point range, and 90.6% from the free-throw line.
