Caitlin Clark didn’t make a strong statement during Thursday night’s contest between the Indiana Fever and the Golden State Valkyries. The second-year WNBA star was involved in a huge brawl on Tuesday night that involved Connecticut Sun guard Marina Mabrey and Fever guard Sophie Cunningham.
Clark was thrown to the court by Mabrey, and Cunningham stepped in to defend her teammate. Clark finished the game with 20 points and six assists in the Fever’s 88-71 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The incident drew a lot of attention on social media, and many fans were tuning in to see how Clark, Cunningham, and the Fever would respond on Thursday night when they played the Valkyries.
Clark had a dreadful night shooting, going 3-of-14 from the floor. She finished with 11 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds in an 88-77 loss to Golden State in front of 18,064 fans at Chase Center.
Dave Portnoy called out Caitlin Clark

Following the game, Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports, a fan of Clark, criticized the former Iowa standout for her sloppy play on Thursday night.
“Caitlin had terrible game,” Portnoy posted on X. “Happy for Kate Martin though. Also Golden State is 1st crowd I’ve seen that was a true home crowd that was there for their team and not for Caitlin. Good for WNBA.”
