    Iowa Hawkeyes alumna Caitlin Clark expressed her support for former teammate Sydney Affolter as the latter also takes a bow on her college basketball career and step up yo the pro league in the WNBA.

    In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Iowa Hawkeyes senior guard Sydney Affolter bid farewell to her college program, the Iowa Hawkeyes. Affolter called being part of the team an “honor of a lifetime.” Naturally, former teammate and reigning WNBA Rookie of The Year Caitlin Clark dropped by the comets section to express her support.

    “Thank you college basketball for giving me countless memories and lifelong sisters,” Affolter wrote. “Wearing Iowa across my chest has been the honor of a lifetime. Through every high and low, this place and this game have shaped me in ways I’ll carry forever. Once a hawk, always a hawk🤍🐥.”

    “I love you squidy,” Clark wrote in a comment.

    Sydney Affolter has had a solid career with the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team, showcasing her growth and versatility over the years. Joining the team in the 2021-22 season, she initially played off the bench but gradually earned a more prominent role.

    By the 2023-24 season, she became a key contributor, stepping into the starting lineup during the postseason and delivering standout performances, including a double-double in the Big Ten title game and a strong showing in the NCAA tournament.

    Throughout her college career, Affolter averaged 5.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, with a 49.5% field goal percentage and 39.9% three-point shooting.

    On the other hand, Caitlin Clark played 139 games, averaging 28.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game. Her shooting efficiency was remarkable, with a 46.2% field goal percentage, 37.7% from three-point range, and 85.8% from the free-throw line.

    Caitlin Clark Praises Fever HC Ahead of 2025 Season

    In her appearance at “The Bird and Taurasi Show,” Caitlin Clark talked about returning Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White, who she called one of the “smartest basketball minds.”

    “[Stephanie White] is one of the smartest basketball minds I’ve ever been around and everybody knows that across the league,” Clark said during the live commentary. “Everybody admires her and the way she coaches, the way she leads.”

    Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark

    During her 2024 season with the Fever, Caitlin Clark averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and a league-high 8.4 assists per game. Her shooting efficiency included a 41.7% field goal percentage, 34.4% from three-point range, and an outstanding 90.6% from the free-throw line.
