Caitlin Clark traded her offseason peace to see the Big East matchup between Creighton Bluejays and Butler Bulldogs. The WNBA superstar showed up at CHI Health Center in Omaha rocking a stunning trench coat.

However, the Indiana Fever guard wasn’t there to make some highlight social media reels. She allegedly came to cheer on her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, who coaches for Butler.
Caitlin Clark Supports Butler Coach Boyfriend Connor McCaffery in Tense Big East Matchup
Clark recently arrived at her hometown arena Tuesday night for the Creighton-Butler showdown. FOX Sports cameras caught her in the stands scrolling through social media feeds on her mobile device. She sported a long gray coat that became the front-page subject with other celebrities like Nick Baugh.
One fan joked, “She looks like she’s in The Matrix,” comparing Clark’s trench coat to the look from the famous film directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski.

Her boyfriend, McCaffery, joined Butler’s coaching staff in September 2024. He wrapped up six seasons playing guard at Iowa Hawkeyes and worked with the Pacers. Now he has become a coach who grinds on the sidelines while his girlfriend, Clark, supports him in her break time.
The game delivered Big East basketball at its finest. The Blue Jays had the lead from the jump, and they maintained it till the break, finishing the first half with a 44-35 lead.
McCaffery’s Butler fought back hard, but their every push got a direct response from Bluejays squad. So, as expected, the fight was close until the end, but the Bulldogs couldn’t make the last laugh. Creighton escaped with a close 89-85 victory, dropping Butler’s record to 10-4 overall.
Clark saw her boyfriend’s team come up short despite a strong comeback. The loss added to Butler’s road struggles in Big East play, with both conference defeats coming away from Hinkle Fieldhouse. Now McCaffery and his staff are under serious pressure to steady the season.
However, it is worth mentioning that her star power draws eyeballs everywhere during the matchup, though she was mostly busy on her mobile. Safe to say, she’s become a fixture at Butler home games this season.
Whether in Indianapolis or on the road, Clark shows up, making her off-season nothing like a regular break.
