Caitlin Clark’s interview with TIME magazine is all anyone can talk about for the next few days. The interview gave up plenty of fodder for fans and critics to ruminate for quite some time, with several juicy nuggets about Clark’s personal life. The Indiana Fever guard also discussed some difficult topics, such as how she encountered trolling and social media harassment.
Caitlin Clark also discussed the great responsibilities that come with her influence of being such a top player. She clearly knows that she needs to speak up on sensitive topics such as racial attacks, and lifting other women up in the WNBA.
“It’s something I’m trying to navigate. I’m trying to find a balance while being a rookie. I’m probably the most popular player in the league at the moment, and somebody a lot of people turn to, to have a voice on this type of stuff. I hope we can do a better job as a league of protecting our players and putting better resources around them to make it a safer environment.”
“And obviously, there’s only so much you can police on social media, because we don’t have full control over social media. But there is real responsibility. I understand that, and I acknowledge that.” Clark said to TIME magazine.
The WNBA is one such league where players have always raised their voices in order to lift others up. Sue Bird, who dedicated her entire career to the Seattle Storm of the WNBA is not one who shies away from speaking up for others. The basketball legend has also always advocated other professional athletes to speak on important issues, just as Clark is being encouraged to do now.
Taylor Swift Invites Caitlin Cark To Kansas City Chiefs Game
Caitlin Clark is through and through a complete Swiftie, with the recent ‘Athlete of the Year’ awardee attending a number of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in Indianapolis. While Clark was definitely enjoying the music, many fans were thrilled and surprised to see Indiana’s superstar at the show.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift also seems to be a Caitlin Clark fan, sending her four bags of rare merchandise from her concerts and inviting her to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs play. Swift’s Eras Tour has officially ended, giving the musician much-needed time to spend with her friends and her family. Swift also went on to praise Clark for her performances, and called her ‘inspiring to watch’.
