Caitlin Clark’s Teammate Looked Back on a Hilarious Interaction Between the Indiana Fever Star and Christie Sides

Indiana Fever’s Lexie Hull made a guest appearance on “The Ringer WNBA Show” on their Wednesday episode and spoke about a funny exchange between her former head coach Christie Sides and Caitlin Clark. During her appearance, Hull talked about a hilarious moment during one of their team practices that sent the roster laughing on the floor.

The Fever wrapped Clark’s rookie season on a high note with a playoff appearance. Although the team didn’t advance to the next round, it was still worth noting that they achieved something important. That’s all thanks to the performance of their All-Star guard.

In her rookie season, Clark averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists. With her first WNBA campaign, she earned the Rookie of the Year award. But that doesn’t mean that the star guard didn’t experience hardships.

The Fever had a 20-20 record, including a five-game losing streak to start the season. Because of their early season struggles, former head coach Christie Sides had to experiment with different methods of how her players can handle the tough environments of other WNBA arenas.

According to Hull, there was one practice session where the former head coach played loud music to allow the players to concentrate despite the loud noise.

“There was one… practice, Christie turns on loud music. Because… we knew the [opposing] arena was going to be loud. And so she turns on this loud, loud music, and Caitlin screams, ‘Can someone turn it off? It’s giving me a migraine!’,” Hull said.

“And everyone’s like ‘Uh, what?’ And Christie reacted and said ‘What did you say?’ And [Caitlin] repeated it. And all of us were… dying, because if someone, if I would have said that, if anyone on our team would have said that, and then been asked ‘What did you say?’ And you repeat it, no one else is repeating it. But she did.”

“It was the funniest thing. We were all on the floor, rolling on the ground laughing.”

Clark deserved this encounter with the former coach based on her performance this season. However, her teammates won’t see another interaction between the two next season after the Fever fired Sides on Sunday.

It has only been one season of Caitlin Clark as a WNBA player, but she has already made a significant impact. Clark joined pop star Taylor Swift and tennis legend Serena Williams as part of Time Magazine’s Inspiring Women edition cover.
