Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark sent out her well wishes to USC Trojans star guard Juju Watkins, who recently sustained an ACL injury that prematurely ended her season while in the middle of the NCAA Tournament.

In one of her recent posts on social media platform X, Catilin Clark extended her thoughts to USC star JuJu Watkins, who is recovering from a recent ACL injury that ended her season.

Clark said in her post: “Sending all my thoughts and prayers to JuJu. Kid will come back stronger than ever ❤️”

JuJu Watkins suffered a devastating knee injury during the second-round NCAA Tournament game against Mississippi State. While driving toward the basket, her right knee buckled, leading to a torn ACL.

This season-ending injury has not only sidelined Watkins for the remainder of the tournament but also raised concerns about her availability for the 2025–26 season. Despite this setback, USC managed to secure a commanding victory and advance to the Sweet 16.

Watkins is expected to undergo surgery and begin rehabilitation soon.

Social Media Reacts to Caitlin Clark Calling JuJu Watkins “Kid”

While Caitlin Clark’s recent social media post was simply about expressing thoughts for JuJu Watkins, people on social media found something to pick on from her post—the fact that she called Watkins “kid.”

Caitlin Clark was born on January 22, 2002, making her 23 years old. JuJu Watkins, on the other hand, was born on July 15, 2005, which makes her 19 old, turning 20 this year.

One user said: “Kid? Isn’t she pretty much the same age as you? Just saying.”

Another one said: “The Kid will come back…lol CC talking like she a 10 year W vet. LMAO 😂. But nice of CC to reach out tho💯”

In defense, another one said: “Dammed if you do. Dammed if you don’t. The angry lesbians will come at you for anything. It’s a great post by you CC. You’ll just never win them over.”

Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark, former Iowa Hawkeye standout and the no. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, speaks Wednesday, April 17, 2024, during an introductory press conference inside the entry pavilion at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

On the other hand, people have pointed out how the word “kid” is a common term of endearment amongst athletes.

One fan said: “The stupid outrage on this post of Clark calling Watkins “kid” truly shows how low IQ people are.

    1. Clark is four years older than Watkins
    2. Anything more than two years older and “kid” is a very acceptable term of endearment within athletes.”
