Indiana Fever star and TIME Magazine 2024 Athlete of The Year Caitlin Clark will be playing at the All-Star Weekend of the NBA and participate in a 3-point shootout alongside New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu. Or, at least, that is what people caught the former Indiana pacer legend and now NBA commentator Reggie Miller seemingly confirming.
In a post on X, Front Office Show reporter Keith Smith highlighted what he said was part of Reggie Milelr’s recent commentary that seemingly leaked that Catilin Clark would participate in an upcoming 3-point shootout alongside Sabrina Ionescu and against Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
“Did Reggie Miller just leak the All-Star Saturday shootout plans?” Smith said. “Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark vs Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson?”
“If so, that would be awesome, especially with the game in the Bay Area!” he added.

Caitlin Clark on All-Star Weekend Already Hinted Before
This won’t be the first time that Steph Curry and Sabrina Ionescu would face each other in a 3-point shootout, as the two faced off during the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend on February 17, 2024. During the shootout, Ionescu scored an impressive 26 points, but Curry edged her out with 27 points to win the challenge.

This was also not the first time that Caitlin Clark was linked for a potential All-Star weekend appearance, as ESPN insider Shams Charania suggested in November 2024 that such a plan is being cooked.
“Sources tell me that Curry and Ionescu are continuing discussions on bringing back that shootout—there are plans for that—but also potentially including Klay Thompson and Caitlin Clark in that competition this year,” Chanaria said.

What further fueled the hope that rumors of Ionescu and Clark joining the All-Star weekend and doing a shootout with Curry was Ionescu’s statement of having “other commitments” aside from the 3-on-3 league Unrivaled. Most fans were quick to understand that she would not have been talking about the 2025 WNBA season as it won’t overlap with Unrivaled.
“They’ve been very accommodating,” Ionescu said, “knowing that I have obligations I have to be at, being able to work through that with them and knowing I want to be here, fully committed to my teammates and this team.”

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark would not have any problem with her schedule since she is not set to participate in Unrivaled. While she has long been rumored to be a part of it, and even reportedly offered $1 million to join, the NWBA Rookie of The Year ultimately declined.
