Caitlin Clark’s stalker has been charged and has pleaded guilty, but unfortunately, the news has not been covered as much as it should have been. While news outlets did cover the topic, WNBA players and even ESPN have been profoundly silent on the matter. Bobby Burack, a journalist for Outkick, was quick enough to accuse those who have not raised voices in support of Caitlin Clark in this matter.
Michael Thomas Lewis sent a number of offensive and sexually explicit messages and also traveled all the way from Texas to Indianapolis to be closer to Clark. Lewis also messaged her while driving around her house, and communicated that he drives by Gainbridge Fieldhouse at least thrice a day. As a result of his stalking, Clark was forced to change up her routines and her patterns for fear of her own safety.
Burack not only accused the media of not covering the news enough, but also threw accusations at WNBA players, especially after Caitlin Clark herself was accused by New York Times for maintaining silence when Chennedy Carter and DiJonai Carrington were abused online after they fouled her.
“Where are the ESPNers who vilified Clark for not using her platform to stop the online hate that women of color in the WNBA face?” Bobby Burack sad on ‘Outkick’.
Lewis, who is 55 years old, admitted to the charges against him and confessed that he fantasized about a relationship with the 22-year-old basketball star. Clark’s lawyers have asked the court for a restraining order which will keep Lewis away from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, and her own person.
