WNBA reigning Rookie of The Year Caitlin Clark should not tolerate the criticism thrown her way, particularly about the topic of her statements on her supposed “white privilege,” with the media twisting it into a specific narrative. At least, this is what one NFL analyst thinks of the issue.

In one of the recent episodes of the “Outkick Show,” NFL analyst Dan Dakich got honest about his insights on the issue of Caitlin Clark facing media backlash over her statements on the topic of “white privilege.”

For Dakich, this criticism is uncalled for since media outlets are twisting it to their own agenda and narrative. With this said, he has his honest take, particularly if Clark happened to be her daughter.

“If I were Caitlin Clark’s dad, I’d tell ESPN to go f*** yourself. I would. Go f*** yourself. I would stop that real quick. I would stand up to bullies. You don’t act weak a*s ever. If you apologize, it will never stop,” Dakich said.

He also had one suggestion on how Clark could stop the media from capitalizing on her statements.

“Here’s what Caitlin Clark could do,” he added. “Look, if you come to me like this, I’m not doing any interviews with you. You all keep coming at me with these bulls****.”

Caitlin Clark talks “White Privilege” in Netflix Interview

In her guest appearance for an episode of “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman” on Netflix, Catilin Clark also talked about the topic of “white privilege.”

“I’m obviously white, but I think I’m somebody who grew up a huge fan of this league,” Clark said. “I grew up watching this league, going to games, supporting this league. So I know where this league comes from: a lot of Black women that grew up making this league what it is. And that’s kind of the shoulders that we stand on.”

“So I think that was something I’m very aware of, and something I’m very thankful for. And they deserve all the credit, and the more we can give credit to them, the better. I’m very aware of that, and I know that, and I think there is responsibility in acknowledging that.”

Caitlin Clark faced significant backlash after acknowledging her “white privilege” during an interview following her recognition as TIME Magazine’s Athlete of the Year in December 2024. She expressed gratitude for the contributions of Black women who built the WNBA and emphasized the importance of acknowledging the privilege she benefits from as a white player in the league.
