Cameron Brink was one of the most anticipated players of her batch, although her rookie season came to a shocking halt after sustaining an ACL injury. After months of recovering, the Los Angeles Sparks star will finally return to the court against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday.

During an interview after team practice, Brink expressed her excitement after sharing what it meant for her to finally play for the Sparks.
“I don’t know if I can say that, but yeah,” Brink said, via John W. Davis. “It means the world. I’m just very excited, very humbled by this experience. It’s no easy thing to come back from, so I’m just really excited.”

Known for her frontcourt defense, Cameron Brink also didn’t hold back on how she’ll play even if her offense hasn’t been fully polished yet.
“I feel like my defense has always been something I’ve leaned on, so probably I would say defense. But yeah, just giving myself patience on offense, knowing that it’ll come eventually,” Brink added. “But yeah, both will need some work.”

Averaging 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and a huge 2.3 blocks in 15 games at her rookie stretch, Cameron Brink has always been the Sparks’ hope as they continue to grind from the bottom. So far, the team (11-14) thankfully is managing to come back, winning five back-to-back games. However, with Brink’s return, their chances of entering the playoffs might go higher.
Other than the Sparks, fans also highly await Cameron Brink’s return. She had gained a huge following since her Stanford stint, where she won the NCAA Championship in 2021. In fact, Brink has always been treated as a rising star and was often placed in the same tier as Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. Hopefully, she can meet the expectations with her return.
Sparks HC provides update on Cameron Brink’s return
Cameron Brink has found a reliable mentor in Lynne Roberts, who continued to support her amidst her injuries. Via an interview with John W. Davis, the LA Sparks coach shared cautious optimism about the rookie’s timeline.
“Hopefully we get her back before the end of this month, but we’ll see when it actually is,” Roberts said. “It’s gonna take some time, but again, I’ve been saying all season, let’s peak in August. And I think Cam provides a little bit of a boost. Not just on the court, but just kind of the confidence it brings to all of us having a player like that back.”

Roberts sees flashes of what makes Cameron Brink special: elite defensive instincts, sharp timing, and a growing offensive presence that’s already giving the team a lift. The message? Patience. Brink’s impact is coming—it just needs room to settle in.
