Candace Parker definitely did not expect details of her dating life to be aired out on national television by her own former coach. Parker and Bruce Pearl were calling the Tennessee vs. Rutgers game a couple of days back, when the former NCAA coach discussed her dating life.

Parker was definitely taken by surprise at Pearl dropping truth bombs about her having relationships with multiple male players. Apparently, Pearl was so worried about his own players that he begged Parker to not break up with several of them before an important game.

“Candace was a beautiful young student athlete at Tennessee. She was dating one of my guys and she was talking to two or three others at the same time. Hey, Candace, you remember there were a couple of times where I would come to you and say, ‘Honey, don’t break up with him tonight,’ right? You remember this? I literally did. And she would be like ‘Okay.’ We had that relationship. Candace was mature beyond her age,” Bruce Pearl said.

“I was in your office and talking to you. And I think that’s the thing I love the most about the University of Tennessee, is the relationships and you know the stuff that will stay in 2004 to 2008.” Candace Parker added to Pearl’s statements.

While Candace Parker was definitely taken aback by her personal details being discussed on television, she seemed to play along with it and even added to the comments. While Parker may have been breaking many hearts back in her college days, the former baller is now happily married to Anna Petrakova since 2019.

Candace Parker’s Remarks Reveal Close Student-Coach Relationship At Tennessee

Candace Parker nodding her head to Bruce Pearl’s comments about her dating life actually revealed the positive environment that student athletes had at the University of Tennessee, at least back in her time. Despite Parker being coached by Pat Summit, she still had a strong relationship with Bruce Pearl, who coached the men’s team.

Nevertheless, Parker definitely did not expect her intense dating life to be discussed on live television. Parker looked slightly uncomfortable after Pearl dropped those truth bombs about her relationships, but managed to play it cool and giggled nervously throughout. The incident clearly made some great media fodder with the video going viral ever since.
