It is already known that Charles Barkley and the ‘Inside the NBA’ crew’s tenure may come to an end as the NBA chose to return to Prime instead of TNT. Many fans are disheartened and very much concerned that the television show that they are used to watching will not be running on its last legs.
With their futures still unsure, there is interest on getting the show’s talents, one of which is the 61-year-old broadcast personality who is rumored to have an offer from rival network ESPN. In a statement by Michal McCarthy of Front Office Sports, Barkley, should he explore the field, could get a huge payday of as much as $20 million.
“The Chuckster could command $20 million-plus offers from the NBA’s new trio of rights partners: newcomer Prime; incumbent ABC/ESPN; and former broadcast partner NBC, which held the rights during the Michael Jordan golden era from 1990 to 2002. ESPN is already eying Barkley and the entire cast of Inside the NBA, say my sources. Ditto for Prime.”

Prime is interested in adopting Charles Barkley and the rest of the ‘Inside the NBA’ crew
There is no doubt that Charles Barkley has a larger-than-life personality, and he brought this inside and outside of the basketball court. His magnetic aura captivated fans to tune in and listen to his opinions on ‘Inside the NBA’. Apart from ESPN, Prime may also bid for his on-camera services.

Prime Video’s global head, Jay Marine, was vocal about pitching an offer to Barkley and the other personalities on ‘Inside the NBA‘, making them continue what they do best on television.
“’Inside the NBA,’ in our opinion, is the gold standard for studio programming,” Marine said, according to Front Office Sports. “I’m a huge fan. We’re all big fans. It is so entertaining. Those guys are hilarious. The chemistry is off the chart. In fact, it’s what we really held up as the standard and our inspiration when we were designing our ‘TNF ‘pregame show. … We’ll have to see how all this plays out. We just signed the deal. They’ll have no shortage of options depending on what they want to do.”
The former league MVP also reiterated prior to the NBA-TNT tug-of-war that he intends to retire soon from broadcasting and rest on his laurels. With the current situation and the n2024–25umber of dollars thrown at Barkley, it would be interesting to see how the seasoned basketball analyst will decide when all offers are on the table after the 2024-25 season.
