Kon Knueppel hit an impressive milestone during the Charlotte Hornets’ 139-132 road loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night, as he became the fastest player in NBA history to reach 100 career three-pointers made.
The Charlotte Hornets rookie entered the game tied with Stephen Curry for the second-most in the league. Knueppel finished with 20 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the field, including five three-pointers in 31 minutes of action.
“He’s very mature. He has an understanding of how to step up and prepare himself for these moments, and I think that’s just a tribute to his work,” Moussa Diabate said of Knueppel. “He’s been doing everything right, and I’m excited for his future.”
“I think it’s, No. 1, just his natural ability to shoot the ball. He’s got a phenomenal base to him. His early shot prep is good, mechanics to finish (with) the consistency of his shot. His mechanics are really good, so credit to dad and mom and (Duke) coach (Jon) Scheyer and all the people that helped build up just his overall shooting technique,” head coach Charles Lee added.

Charlotte Hornets News: LaMelo Ball bounces back after rough outing vs. Detroit Pistons
After being held to a season-low eight points against the East-leading Detroit Pistons on Saturday evening, LaMelo Ball did much better against the Cleveland Cavaliers, notching 23 points, four rebounds, nine assists, and six three-pointers on 8-for-16 shooting from the field across 24 minutes of action for the Charlotte Hornets.
“I think that it just adds a boost of confidence to our group knowing that you have that one guy that, if things break down, he’s able to create a shot. For himself and also for other people. He’s done a great job of passing, and I think it’s become contagious with our group,” Lee said of Ball via The Charlotte Observer.
“You’ve got to have somebody that is not afraid to make a big play. It might burn you every once in a while, but those guys have such good feel, such good instincts that a lot of times it works out. It also keeps the defense honest when they know that that guy is capable of making that pass, it throws you off a little bit,” he continued.
