Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball briefly addressed the minor car collision he was involved in on Wednesday in uptown Charlotte during his postgame presser after their 105-101 home defeat against the Houston Rockets yesterday.
Ball didn’t say many details about what happened. Instead, the Charlotte Hornets guard expressed his gratitude for coming out of the incident unscathed before walking out on the reporters.
“I’m just alive and blessed for real,” Ball said via Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer. “So, God is great. It’s unfortunate. “Everybody is cool, so it’s just blessings. God is great. I seen her get straight out the car.”
To his credit, Ball showed no ill effects as the Charlotte Hornets star flirted with a triple-double. He had 11 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists on 5-for-14 shooting from the field across 31 minutes of action.

Charlotte Hornets News: Charles Lee addresses LaMelo Ball’s recent car accident
Charlotte Hornets head coach Charles Lee hinted that LaMelo Ball’s recent minor collision in uptown Charlotte could be used as a learning experience for everyone.
“Distractions, I think that our staff and our players, we try to get ahead of things as much as possible, and so even in the offseason, we talked a ton about embracing adversity and focusing on the things that we can control. There’s always going to be distractions — in life, in basketball. Things that just like come up,” Lee explained. “A big part of who we want to be and who we want to kind of grow into are people that respond the appropriate way when you are faced with adversity or when there are distractions.”
“They’ve learned from some of these events that we’ve had go on. And we focus on what we can do — to respond and come out and play. Play a tough game, keep getting better every day, keep supporting one another,” he ended.
