LaMelo Ball has been mentioned in numerous trade rumors for quite some time, even if he recently dispelled the notion of leaving the Charlotte Hornets anytime soon. However, that won’t stop pundits and fans from speculating due to the team’s poor start.
In a recent Bleacher Report livestream, Jake Fischer reported that Ball’s value and reputation have taken a hit amid chatter that the Sacramento Kings are linked to a potential move for the Charlotte Hornets floor general.
“Someone today I was speaking to on the phone called LaMelo Ball the ‘most unserious player’ in the NBA,” Fischer explained. “That is not my opinion; that was one prominent cap person in the NBA.”
“I do not think Sacramento would really view LaMelo Ball as someone to really re-invigorate their culture behind. I do not think Sacramento really is interested in LaMelo Ball,” he added. “Everything (Kings general manager) Scott Perry has talked about, privately and publicly, since he has taken over this team is wanting to re-establish a tough, gritty identity.”

Charlotte Hornets News: LaMelo Ball out, Josh Green in for the Chicago Bulls game
After a short break, the Charlotte Hornets return to action against the Chicago Bulls on Friday. According to Roderick Boone of the Charlotte Observer, the team will welcome back Josh Green, who will make his season debut after recovering from a left shoulder injury.
On the other hand, the Charlotte Hornets will remain without their star guard, LaMelo Ball, who sustained a left ankle injury against the Toronto Raptors last week. The one-time NBA All-Star was absent during their previous game against the Denver Nuggets.
Joining Ball on the sidelines are Tre Mann (knee), Collin Sexton (quad), Moussa Diabate (knee), and Grant Williams (knee), which will mean more playing time for youngsters Kon Knueppel, Ryan Kalkbrenner, KJ Simpson, Sion James, and Liam McNeeley.
