Nobody knows what the Charlotte Hornets plan to do with their roster in their chase for NBA glory. Another disappointing season has fans and analysts alike openly wondering if the Hornets has any chance of transforming the team into a squad that can contend for the Larry O’Brien trophy.
Analysts covering the Hornets have different takes on how the Hornets can turn their roster in a squad that can contend for spots in the play-in tournament. A lot of the talk circulates around LaMelo Ball, with the topics ranging from challenging him to improve to outright trading him and blowing up the roster.

While both sides have legitimate reasons for their arguments, another analyst makes an entirely different suggestion: keep the youngest Ball Brother and sending another key player to another team for a player who can better fit with Melo’s play.
Analyst thinks the Charlotte Hornets should keep LaMelo Ball and trade Miles Bridges for a better fit

Swarm & Sting’s Orel Dizon agrees with the sentiment of many Hornets reporters that the front office needs to make some drastic offseason changes if they want to make a serious run for the Finals.
While he recognizes that many think Ball is the odd man out for the rebuilding Hornets, he argues that Ball should be given more room to operate and trade Miles Bridges instead.
He acknowledged Bridges’ tenure in the franchise as a good reason to keep him around. Having a leader in the locker room who understands the team’s culture is invaluable. However, he also noted that there are basketball reasons to let him go:
Despite his contributions in this campaign, though, it’s worth noting that his shooting efficiency from the field and beyond the arc dipped significantly. In Bridges’ defense, being the go-to option, a role he had to assume as Ball and Brandon Miller combined to play just 74 games in the regular season, isn’t his strongest suit.
In addition, the team has a dismal record of 166-258 (39.2 percent) whenever the 27-year-old veteran has taken the court.
Bridges had a solid season for Charlotte, averaging 20.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. Trading him could bring a solid long-range threat to expand the team’s attacking options.

At the end of the day, it’s up to the front office whether they’d let Bridges go. With how things are going for Charlotte, it’s hard to know what they’ll do next.
