Charlotte Hornets center Moussa Diabate recently broke his silence on what happened between him, Jalen Duren, Miles Bridges, and Isaiah Stewart during their viral in-game brawl against the Detroit Pistons on Monday evening.
According to Diabate, he reached his boiling point when Duren put his hand on his face after a foul on a layup attempt. The Charlotte Hornets youngster also admitted his emotions got the better of him.
“We go back and forth, it’s a basketball game at the end of the day,” Diabate told The Charlotte Observer’s Rod Boone. “So, we’re going to be competitive, we’re going to talk, we’re going to be physical. And I’m completely OK with that.”
“So, I fouled him, we get into each other’s face, which is fine. It’s basketball. When he put his hand on my face, obviously it’s unfortunate, but at that point, I lost control of my emotions,” he admitted.

Charlotte Hornets News: Miles Bridges sends clear message to the team after fracas involving the Detroit Pistons
Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges said that their altercation with the Detroit Pistons should serve as a learning experience for them. He also admitted that he should’ve controlled his emotions better, though he’ll always have his teammates’ backs.
“I should have just went to Moussa and made sure he was good,” Bridges said. “It’s a learning experience. There’s a lot of things built up. Jalen pushing him in his face, that’s the most disrespectful thing you can do. And then after that things went left.”
“Yeah, they tried it, but we’re not going for that,” he continued. “I feel like we showed everybody that we’re not going for that. Like I said, we’ve got to be better next time and don’t let them get under our skin.”
