Brandon Miller had a stellar 2025-26 season debut for the Charlotte Hornets, scoring 25 points in win over the Brooklyn Nets but things took a wrong turn in the next game when he had to exit the game against the Philadelphia 76ers due to an injury he suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter.

The Hornets are hoping for a better season this time with the 2023 second overall pick expected to make a leap. He entered the offseason dealing with a different injury but was able to fully recover.
Problem is, he has been out since that first game and will be out for multiple weeks.
The latest on Miller says he will be out for at least two weeks due to a left shoulder subluxation. The good takeaway from this news is that the injury was not severe.

Miller recently went to get a second opinion on his shoulder injury, which was confirmed yet again to be a left shoulder subluxation.
The good news is that there doesn’t appear to be any further damage in his shoulder. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks. https://t.co/9k1VjlcCC0

Who will replace Brandon Miller?
Miller averaged 21 points per game last season although he played only 27 games. Who should head coach Charles Lee tap to fill his shoes?
Liam McNeeley is being tested already. The 2025 29th overall pick did not play in the first two games Miller suited up but he has been tapped by Lee to play the power forward position in the last four games.
The U-Conn Huskies standout averages 3 points per game so far but he is taking around 1-2 shots per game. His biggest production was 6 points when he played 14 minutes, the most so far.

Fellow rookie Kon Knueppel is another option although he is more of a starter compared to McNeeley. The fourth overall pick had a great game in the last one against the Utah Jazz, scoring 24 points, grabbing six rebounds, and dishing out five assists.
LaMelo Ball will need someone to pass to and McNeeley and Knueppel should stay ready.
