Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey had a night on Saturday against Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena. The 22-year-old Australian put together an incredible stat line — one that no one before in the history of the NBA had achieved.
Via the Bulls’ official X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter) account:
TAKE A BOW, JOSH GIDDEY
15 points
10 rebounds
17 assists
8 steals
The first player in NBA HISTORY with this stat line.

Giddey surely had a big role in the Bulls defeating the Lakers via a score of 146-115. He also took advantage of Los Angeles’ seemingly lethargic form on both ends of the floor.
As a team, Giddey and the Bulls shot 58.3 points and had 41 assists on 46 field goals made. Meanwhile, the Lakers posted a 48.2 field goal percentage, which wasn’t particularly bad, but they committed 21 turnovers and failed to slow down Chicago’s attack.
Apart from Giddey, who was traded to Chicago by the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Alex Caruso, the Bulls got huge performances from the likes of Coby White, Matas Buzelis and their bench.
White led Chicago with 36 points while Buzelis posted a career-high 31 points. Patrick Williams and Dalen Terry came off the bench and chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively.
The Lakers got 34 points from Doncic but even his brilliant scoring night paled in comparison to what Giddey did.
Social media reacts to Giddey’s wild stat line for the Chicago Bulls vs. Lakers

Fans online had a lot to say about Giddey’s gaudy numbers versus the Lakers. Here are some of them from the Bulls’ post on X:
“Not getting enough respect. Huge game.”
“Almost the quad double good work”
“Always believed in his skill set 🔥🔥🔥”
“Almost a quadruple double is impressive”
“2 steals off a quadruple double is insane…. we gonna overpay this man 100% 😭😭”
“He’s making it harder with every game the for Bulls fans to hate him. To think all it took was a bench player to get him.”
Giddey is playing on an expiring contract and is on path to become a restricted in the summer.
