“They Made an Offer of $80 Million” – Chicago Bulls’ Contract Talks With Josh Giddey Receives Key Update

Josh Giddey has yet to sign his new contract with the Chicago Bulls as their talks have stalled, and it seems that the two parties remain far from reaching a compromise.

According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Chicago Bulls had offered Giddey a deal worth $80 million for the next four years at the start of free agency, far from what Giddey wanted in the first place.

“League sources say that the Bulls made an offer of $80 million over four years to restricted free agent Josh Giddey when the offseason commenced on June 30,” Fischer reported.

“Giddey, of course, is seeking an annual salary in the $30 million range. Chicago has been anchored in the $20 million range in annual value ever since its original offer,” he added.

Chicago Bulls reportedly exploring trade offers for Patrick Williams

As the Chicago Bulls have started rebuilding, the team is reportedly entertaining the idea of trading Patrick Williams before next season’s trade deadline. The former fourth overall pick is entering the second year of his five-year, $90 million deal.

“Noise surrounding Patrick Williams will rise before this season’s trade deadline. The Bulls are focused on Matas Buzelis, Noa Essengue, and now Isaac Okoro on the wing, which makes Williams very expendable,” ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel reported.

“However, he is entering Year 2 of a five-year, $90 million extension he signed last year. This will be a very tough contract to move by itself,” he added.
