Yesterday marked Zach LaVine’s first game at the United Center since he moved to the Sacramento Kings last season, and the former Chicago Bulls guard said that it “felt like I came home.”
Before the game, LaVine reflected on his eight-year stint with the Chicago Bulls, and the two-time NBA All-Star had nothing but kind words for his former team.
“I love Chicago,” LaVine said via ESPN’s Jamal Collier. “Through ups and downs. I’ve grown my family here. I’ve had major moments, low points. I became a man here. I know I did a lot of good in Chicago. I just wish I could have won more here.”
“Sometimes you do the best you can. None of us try to lose, but you played the cards that you’re dealt, and you play them to the best of your ability. I feel like I did that. I appreciate each and every moment that I’ve had here. I’ll continue to be a fan of this team and this organization unless I’m playing against them. It’s nothing but love for me,” he added.
Chicago Bulls News: Matas Buzelis pays tribute to Zach LaVine
The Chicago Bulls won 126-113 against the Sacramento Kings last night, and after the game, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan were seen on the court sharing hugs and laughs with coach Billy Donovan and Matas Buzelis.
“I played my homage to him,” Buzelis said about LaVine. “He is an amazing guy. He answers all the questions I have. Amazing role model. He is my first superstar teammate… He was a great leader. That’s my guy.”
Buzelis led the Chicago Bulls with 27 points, five rebounds, two steals, and four three-pointers on 11-for-18 shooting from the field. Josh Giddey, Kevin Huerter, Nikola Vucevic, Tre Jones, and Jalen Smith added 20, 18, 13, 11, and 10 points.
