Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese is turning out to be a firecracker on the court after getting ejected recently in a game against the New York Liberty. Along with that development, the WNBA has imposed a fine on the young star for the technical fouls she received on the court.
Reese first made her mark on the sport when she won the NCAA championship with the LSU Tigers in 2023. From there, the Sky selected her using the seventh pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, a class that also boasted Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark and Los Angeles Sparks’ Cameron Brink.

Over the course of eight games this season, Reese has shown flashes of potential as a bruising forward in the league. She has averaged 10.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 steals. Furthermore, the former LSU Tigers star connected only 33 percent of her field goals and 70 percent from the free throw line.
Just recently, Reese and the Sky faced the New York Liberty in their own home court. Late in the fourth quarter, the rookie had some words with the referee and received a technical foul after battling for a rebound with Jonquel Jones. She got another one after the Chicago star waved him off, leading to her ejection from the game.
Chicago Sky Rookie Angel Reese’s Total Fines After WNBA Ejection

After the game, the WNBA imposed a pair of fines for Reese. The total amount can be found in a tweet Julia Poe shared on X.
“Angel Reese will receive a $200 fine for each technical foul. Total of $400. (Lonzo Ball has already offered to pick up the check on that.),” Poe tweeted.
A day after the fines were imposed, the league rescinded the second technical foul. This left Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball with $200 to pay for Reese.

Without a doubt, Reese has been getting her share of the limelight ever since she made her debut in the WNBA. Expect her star to rise more in the coming months as Chicago vie for a spot in the playoffs.
