Chloe Kitts to Miss 2025 College Season
The South Carolina women’s basketball program announced that its star guard Chloe Kitts will miss the entire 2025 season due to an ACL injury. After imaging and severe evaluations, medical recommendations led to Kitts getting sidelined, to give way to her surgery and rehab. With the development, the team lost a key scorer on the perimeter, and they changed their backcourt rotation starting immediately.

Kitts was able to lean on both her coaches and team officials, who reiterated the medical resources available through the program and their rehab protocol. Above all, the priority is to help her rehabilitate from the injury, while staff can start the process of assessing where changes may or may not be made to the roster, and redistribute minutes before next season.
In a statement, South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley expressed her dislike of the outcome of the injury. She also described Kitts as a player who “worked incredibly hard to become the best version of herself on court” for her senior season.

Chloe Kitts is expected to enter supervised rehab after her surgery, and as she recovers, she will continue to be involved with the team, with conservative return timelines based on long-term function rather than return to play quickly.
