The Los Angeles Clippers haven’t been competitive in the 2025-26 NBA season. With a record of 6-18, the team made waves by sidelining veteran guard Chris Paul. According to reports, Paul clashed with players and coaches within the organization, resulting in a breakup. This season is set to be CP3’s final year in the league, and a farewell tour was ready for him.
Unfortunately for the 12-time All-Star, his farewell tour will have to be on pause. Without a team, he wouldn’t be able to visit the 28 cities. After being released, Paul confirmed he isn’t done and is open to playing a small role in a team. However, he hasn’t had any offers.
For the first time since he was let go by the Clippers, the veteran point guard broke his silence. He had an interview with Jordan Greene with PEOPLE regarding the next chapter of his illustrious 21-year career.

Chris Paul started by saying that he has no regrets about his unexpected breakup with the organization.
“I don’t regret anything,” Paul said. “I was in Atlanta with a whole bunch of family. It was my last time gonna be playing there. That’s life. The whole thing took on a life of its own, you know? But I’m excited to be back here with my family.”
“I’m actually at peace with everything,” he says. “More than anything, I’m excited about being around and getting a chance to play a small role in whatever anything looks like next.”
The Clippers’ all-time assists leader hasn’t closed the book. Paul is staying ready to end his career on his terms.
The Clippers want to work with Chris Paul to find him a suitable trade partner

The Stein Line’s Jake Fischer reported that the only player who’s likely to be moved on Dec. 15 would be Chris Paul. While the other option for the Clippers would be to waive the veteran guard, Fischer said it’s unlikely for LA to take that path. According to the league insider, the Clippers intend to trade the 2006 Rookie of the Year to his preferred team.
“I’ve also been told … in strong terms … that the Clippers do want to work in tandem with Paul and his CAA representation to find him a new home. The 40-year-old indicated last week that he is more likely than not to keep playing even if it means leaving Los Angeles and league sources insist that the Clippers, in a nod to Paul’s status as a franchise legend, do want to help him relocate,” Fischer wrote.
When Paul gets traded, he will continue his farewell tour, a proper send-off for a future Hall of Famer.
